Details, details, details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing that greets you upon opening is a notecard, tucked away in a heavyweight cardstock sleeve. One of my favorite things is seeing my name, printed. This probably stems from having an unconventional name and never finding it on souvenir keychains at amusement parks. My name appears nine times within the Prose packaging experience. Daddy likey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>2. Can I drink that?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the sleeve are several sheets detailing my products&#8217; ingredients. My eye went straight to \u201cfermented rice water\u201d. I love everything about the way that sounds. My urge to drink fermented rice water? Robust. My urge to bathe in it? Intoxicating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>3. What lovely colors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019d describe the labels as lilac, tahini, and butternut squash. I get distracted for half an hour trying to find washi tape in these colors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2968\" height=\"2969\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/prose-blog-media\/1\/2020\/12\/prose-products.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13091\"\/>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2>4. Is this my rags-to-riches story?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since I shaved my head almost two years ago my hair has fluctuated between a buzzcut and a length of little-to-no importance. This means, I practically stopped investing in my hair at all. I switched to a drugstore shampoo but have been known to use whatever I have handy when I run out of it. That includes: body wash, hand soap, and once\u2014my dog\u2019s shampoo. What a welcome upgrade. Have your people contact my people!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>5. Sniff test one: shampoo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>True to my order selection, the scent is very herbaceous. At first whiff, it\u2019s very eucalyptus-forward. A second, deeper sniff reveals something adjacent to spearmint. I tend to be very \u201clow brow\u201d when it comes to scents. For example, I love a candle that smells like sugar cookies. However, when it comes to scents on my person, I prefer light, transparent earthy fragrances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>6. My scalp: the underdog<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The most troublesome part of my body is easily my scalp. (It is otherwise a close race between my weird leg hair pattern and my weak core.) My scalp is always flaky and oily in a way my drugstore dandruff shampoo can not overcome. I suddenly feel hopeful and solution-oriented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>7. Scalp mask viscosity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The thickness of this scalp mask differs from other scalp masks, which usually resemble grout. This is more like a condiment. The kind of thing I could smear on with reckless abandon without needing a mirror. The less time I spend in front of that thing, the better. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"3024\" height=\"3025\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/prose-blog-media\/1\/2020\/12\/prose-scalp-mask.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13089\"\/>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2>8. Sniff test two: scalp mask<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Very neutral. It has a slightly medicinal smell. Like, healing herbs or camphor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>9. Sniff test three: Leave-in conditioner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is cohesive with the rest of the line. Here\u2019s an abridged list of places I\u2019d consider spraying it: On my shower curtain, on my bed linens, on my pulse points, on my dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>10. I already washed my hair today.
