Values below 7 are acidic, and values above 7 are basic. An acidic solution has a high concentration of hydrogen ions, more significant than that of pure water (think lemon juice) and a basic solution has a low concentration, less than pure water (think milk of magnesia). Your hair naturally has a pH value between 4.5 to 5.5, which means that hair is acidic.<\/p>\n<h2>Can my diet impact my hair&#8217;s pH?<\/h2>\n<p>As we all know, what you put into your body is directly related to your health and will show outwardly, including through your hair. Foods like apples, berries, yogurt and vinegar are more acidic, while items like milk, cheese and poultry are more basic.
