Our extract is derived from Rosa Canina, a specific rose also known as Dogrose, native of Europe and commonly found in hedgerows and on wastegrounds. So what exactly is the hip of the rose? It’s the bright orange berry-like part that is left behind after the flower blooms in spring or early summer. The fruit ripens in late summer through autumn and is made out of a fleshy outer layer and highly acidic, white inner seeds. Traditionally used in herbal teas or jams known to be energizing and stimulating, this vitamin rich fruit has a content in vitamin C up to 20 times higher than in most citruses.

WHERE IT’S SOURCED

We source our rosehip fruits from France. Ripe fruits are handpicked in fall in a non destructive motion, relying on local traditional knowledge to respect the biodiversity. Collected berries are then dried and treated to eliminate a characteristic itchy part before the extraction process.
