To our loyal Prose community,
Since day one, we have been extremely dedicated to supporting our community. The well-being of our customers, brand loyalists, supporters, employees and loved ones was and still is the driving force behind our B Corporation certification and the business as a whole. Whether it’s creating custom products to address your specific hair needs, troubleshooting shipment delays or creating educational content about hair care; our commitment to supporting our community still stands the same, and is arguably now even more essential than ever before.
Over the last few weeks, we have taken remarkable steps to ensure Prose is still able to operate (for specific details — read here). We wanted to take a moment to humbly express our gratitude to YOU, our amazing customers. It’s because of you and your continued support that we’re able to stay in business. Your support combined with the current climate has inspired us to give back to those putting their lives at risk within our community.
We are pleased to announce that Prose has pledged:
- A donation of $30,000 to NYC Health + Hospitals. 100% of this donation will go towards purchasing food for frontline NYC health care workers and their families, purchasing more protective gear and covering hotel and transportation expenses. Want to learn more about NYC Health + Hospitals and how you can donate? Visit their site here.
- The production of 21,000 bottles of hand sanitizer (both in house and through a strategic partner) to donate to various NYC + Paris organizations. Some include, The Bowery Project, NYC Relief, BronxWorks and more.
The health and safety of not only our employees but our greater community has been and continues to be a top priority since the beginning of the pandemic. At Prose, we pride ourselves on being transparent with our customers so we’re doing our best to keep you informed about the work we’re doing to support those affected by COVID-19. We are devoted to finding ways to help our community in any way we can — especially, during this uncertain time.
We encourage each of you to find a way to give back to your own communities. If you don’t currently have the means to give money, that’s ok. There are many ways to uniquely show your support; whether it’s calling a loved one on the phone, creating posters with words of encouragement and positivity to hang at your window or even just practicing social distancing, anyone can give back and make an impact. Remember: no good deed is ever too small.
Last but not least, we want to say thank you. We can’t explain how lucky and happy we are to have customers like you. We are certainly more thankful than ever before. We hope you all stay safe, healthy and together, we will get through this.
