Celebrate International Women’s Day with Prose

March 8, 2019

Happy International Women’s Day! What could be better than an entire day dedicated to celebrating women and their accomplishments?

Here at Prose we feel instinctively tied to this holiday because International Women’s Day is also a call for gender balance, something that Prose feels strongly about. Especially since equality and inclusion is built into our DNA through our customized products. We have found that customization is the great equalizer when it comes to hair care. When people are treated as individuals and as more than just a hair type, no one’s needs are shirked or forgotten. Everyone is valued equally no matter their circumstance, including gender. In fact, Prose doesn’t even ask you to identify your gender on our consultation. That is how deeply we believe in the idea of equality.

Here at Prose, we also love supporting causes that are close to our heart, so when She’s the First came onto our radar, it was an instant connection. With ninety-eight million girls out of secondary school worldwide and two thirds of the world’s 781 million illiterate adults being women due to unavoidable circumstances, such as poverty or the increased cost of higher education, She’s the First aims to combat these obstacles and aid girls in furthering their education and setting them on the right track for a successful future.

That’s why this year, in celebration of International Women’s Day, Prose will be donating ten dollars of every order placed on March 8th to She’s the First, a non-profit organization that raises money for education while also providing mentorship and global leadership training for girls who are first generation high school students. Since being founded in 2009 by Tammy Tibbetts and Christen Brandt when they were just twenty-four and twenty-one years old, She’s the First has helped 1,300 girls graduate from high school through their scholarship programs in eleven countries and have equipped 7,200 girls with schooling, mentorship, and tools to become community change-makers.

So, on March 8th support an incredible organization and give your hair the individual attention it deserves with customized hair care. Take your Prose consultation here.
