To start, we’re going to do a quick haiku, but don’t be intimidated! Haiku’s are actually super simple. Here are the guidelines:
[1st line] 5 syllables: your hair in the morning
[2nd line] 7 syllables: what you love about your hair
[3rd line] 5 syllables: favorite haircut
And boom, you’re done! Here are a couple that our team has written to give you a little inspo. We got a bit carried away and strayed from the prompt, so feel free to get creative as you like, too!
Pillow tossed and turned
Long, wavy flowing down down
Layered and layered
-Amanda Flores, Editorial Director
Two braids wrap around
Dark coils and waves spiral down
Face framing shoulder
-Emily Bowen (me!), Editorial and Content Assistant
Three rats make a nest,
an endless holding pattern.
The last always wins.
-Trace Barnhill, Senior Copywriter
Toss and turn surprise
but always adaptable
Movement like a dance
-Rashi Birla, VP of Creative
Constantly constant
My hair reflects what I feel
it does what it wants
-Emily Goodman, Brand Designer
Bushy and braided
Hair is an ancestral gift
Rhythmic and bouncing
-Faith Huffnagle, Director of Education
A mind of its own
Curls unravel in their waves
Voluminously
-Sam Stone, Senior Brand Designer
