Trending Now: Short Butterfly Locs

Faux locs are a beloved protective style perfect for a beach vacation or protecting your natural hair from the summer heat. Since faux locs became a go-to protective style, there are quite a few variations, thanks to the different hair types available. You might already be familiar with goddess locs, but we’re here to talk about short butterfly locs.

    What makes butterfly locs different

So what makes butterfly locs different from, say, goddess locs or even the traditional faux loc? Well, it’s all about the hair. Unlike other hair types, butterfly loc extensions offer a mix of the hair textures of goddess locs and passion twists, giving you the spring of passion twists and the effortless look of goddess locs.

    How to achieve butterfly locs

Like most protective styles, there are a variety of ways to install short butterfly locs, from the crochet method to the braid and wrap method. No matter which technique you select before installing your latest protective style, give the synthetic hair an apple cider vinegar rinse (especially if you have sensitive skin) to remove the coating on the hair. We recommend soaking the hair in one part apple cider vinegar with two parts warm water for 30 minutes to an hour.
