Trending Now: The Pouf Hairstyle Is Back

March 10, 2022

1 Min read

Early 2000s trends have been making the rounds again, bringing back iconic clothing and beauty styles like low-rise jeans, fur trims, and yes, the pouf hairstyle. Whether you love it or hate it, you cannot deny its staple status among celebrity hairdressers of the early 2000s. In fact, if you were to look through red carpet photos from the early 2000s, you will almost certainly find at least two celebs sporting this hairstyle. Most commonly worn by Disney Channel stars and pop stars, the pouf hairstyle was an iconic look.

This look relies almost entirely on texture, whether achieved naturally or through teasing the crown to make the hair form into a ‘bump’ just above the forehead. There are varying levels of intensity that the pouf hairstyle can offer, from a small smooth swoop to five inches of editorial height and frizz. Not only that, there are many different ways that it can be styled. For example, while it looks incredible with the hair down, it can also be added to buns, ponytails, or even braids for added texture.

If you’re still not convinced that the pouf hairstyle deserves to be in popular circulation again, just take a look at some of these inspiration photos. From the iconic ‘original’ pouf to textured updos, these hair pics are sure to show you just how versatile this look is.
